I recently watched this YouTube short video called "Harvard Mindset to Never Procrastinate Again".

It was not long only about 30 seconds. The video was about laziness and what it really is.

What if Laziness was just the habit of thinking about the cost of doing or getting the thing. What if you instead focused on the outcome instead of the cost.

The example they used in the video was instead of thinking about the effort it will take to get up and get something to eat you instead focus on how delicious the food will taste.

When I think about the things I want to accomplish in life I always find my self sitting down and making grand plans. This includes studying 12 hours a day nonstop which I never do. At most I will get 1 - 2 hours of reading in.

I seem to never get down to the actual doing.

Currently I want to learn how to fix cars. I am reading this 1000 page text book. I have been studying it for 6 months. I am about 300 pages into it. I read the chapters over and over again, then answer questions about them. I am actually studying it so I can have than knowledge in my mind.

However I only seem to get 20mins to 1 hour a day IF THAT in of reading. On days I work my job I just seem to be too tired and yet I watch 3 hours of YouTube videos that day.

I realize now that I don't get things done because I am focusing on the effort required or the cost of doing the thing. What I need to do is focus on the outcome.

Studying Auto Tech Stuff:
Don't focus: on having to read or watch tutorial videos.
Do focus: on driving a sweet Honda Civic EK9 that I stripped down and built from the ground up.
Do focus: on a car I bought for $1000, fixed up, and sold for $6000.

Losing Weight:
Don't focus: on having to eat healthy and not enjoying all my favorite foods or exercising.
Do focus: on being in peak physical condition while hot women check me out and wonder how big my wiener is.

Making $10000 a Month Internet Business:
Don't focus: On all the work you have to do, like scripting, filming, technical trouble shooting.
Do focus: On having the peace of mind of never having to work for anyone ever again.

Learning Russian:
Don't focus: on all the vocabulary and studying I will have to do.
Do focus: on speaking to Russian people effortlessly and easily.

I am going to change my mindset to focus on the outcome from now on. I will report back in a month and update everyone on how it went.

Until Next Time!
